CES approves SSP100 million for MPs recess

The Central Equatoria State cabinet approved SSP100 Million to cater for the recess of 100 state Members of the Parliament for their scheduled recess.

The approval came after the minister of parliamentary and legal affairs presented a memo to the council of ministers on Thursday.

Speaking to the media yesterday, the State government spokesperson, Andruga Mabe, said, the minister of Parliamentary and Legal Affairs presented a memo requesting the Cabinet to approve SSP 200 million for 100 state members of parliament to go on recess and other business.

“Minister Emmanuel Taban Baya requested for the approval of SSP 200 Million for 100 Members of the state Parliament as they are to embark on their scheduled Recess, so the Council of Ministers unanimously approved SSP 100 Million for 100 members,” Mabe said.

He said, the cabinet directs the Ministers of Cabinet Affairs and Finance, Planning, and Investment to implement the resolution.

On the other hand, the cabinet considered the memo of the State Minister of Animal Resources, Fisheries and Tourism, Alex Lotiyu Elia, which was passed after scrutiny and subject to amendments.

It entailed the policy framework on measures to regulate the rampant movement of cattle and transformative measures of commercializing both the livestock and fisheries sectors and the development of the tourism industry in the state to propel economic growth.

The Ordinary Council of Ministers of the Government of Central Equatorial State was chaired by the governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil.
