TALLAHASSEE, Fla (WFLA) — The Florida Lottery announced on Tuesday that, in an stroke of luck, John Schaafsma, 68, has won three separate prizes from the 500X THE CASH Scratch-off game.
Schaafsma’s extraordinary winnings include a staggering $1 million in August and two additional $1,000 prizes, which he opted to be doled out in a one-time lump-sum payment of $640,000 from his $1 million win.
K & M Drugs located in Poinciana, where he purchased the winning ticket, also received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling him the prize-winning scratch off ticket.
The $50 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game features a top prize of $25 million and is the largest ever offered in a Florida Scratch-off Game.
According to the lottery website, there are still two top prizes left and 99 #1 million prizes that remain.
