Four sustain injuries after vehicle overturns along Magwi-Torit Road

At least four people sustained serious injuries Wednesday morning when their car overturned in Kormus, along Magwi Torit Road, Eastern Equatoria State.

According to state officials, the Torit –Magwi highway has witnessed a higher number of cases of accidents in the past. However, this year, only three death cases have been noted.

The Director for Traffic Police in Eastern Equatoria State, Adam Satiro, told The City Review the incident happened when the driver and the three other vehicle occupants were returning from Magwi town at 3 a.m.

Satiro added that there was no death case recorded during the accident. The driver was identified as Emmanuel, aged 28, and the other occupants were Michael Amule (36), Jackson Aruma (41) and Odong George (32).

He called on drivers across the state to exercise caution when moving on Torit-Magwi Road which is quite hilly.

“My message to the drivers is that because the road to Magwi is full of corners and mountains if you are moving on Magwi Road, you should be careful,” he said.

He further expressed his administration’s commitment to making sure drivers are always alert to the rules and regulations of the traffic whenever moving on the highways.
