The WASH Project Manager’s job is to make sure that the WASH projects run smoothly. They need to follow the plan, budget, and time schedule that was set in the project proposal. Where Will You Work?

You’ll be in Leer, South Sudan, and sometimes you’ll travel to different project sites in Leer County. Be ready for basic living conditions, as they can be quite simple and tough.

When Will You Start?

You’ll start as soon as possible, and it’s a full-time job for 24 months.

What Will You Do?

  • Manage WASH Projects: You’ll make a plan to make sure clean water and sanitation are available. You’ll also create new project proposals and manage the projects.
  • Make Sure Things are Done Right: You’ll check that everything follows the rules and is of good quality. You’ll use data to see how things are going.
  • Work with Others: You’ll represent Medair in meetings with other groups like the government and the United Nations. You’ll also work with the local team.
  • Manage Money: You’ll look at how much things cost and make sure the project stays on budget.
  • Keep in Touch: You’ll talk to your team, Medair’s main office, and other people involved in the project.
  • Plan for Supplies: You’ll figure out what supplies are needed and how to get them, even if they have to come from far away.
  • Stay Safe: You’ll help with safety and make sure the team knows what to do in emergencies.
  • Do Things Right: You’ll make sure Medair’s rules and international standards are followed.

What Do You Need?

  • You should have a higher level qualification in a technical field, preferably something related to WASH.
  • You need to speak and write in English well.
  • You’ll have to take a course called the Relief & Recovery Orientation Course (ROC).

What Experience Should You Have?

  • You should have at least 2 years of experience in a related field after your qualification.
  • It’s good if you’ve managed WASH projects before and can write reports.
  • If you’ve worked on WASH projects in emergency situations for at least 2 years, that’s even better.
  • You should be able to work well with others and with local authorities.
