Senator Raises Half a Million Dollars to Appeal Racial Discrimination Ruling

Supporters of Pauline Hanson’s One Nation have rallied behind the party leader, raising almost half a million dollars to help her fight a ruling that found she committed racial discrimination.
Hanson is appealing the Federal Court decision handed down on Nov. 1, that found the senator breached the Racial Discrimination Act amid comments made in 2022 where she told Greens Deputy Leader and Senator Mehreen Faruqi to go back to Pakistan.
The One Nation senator was ordered to remove her comments and pay Faruqi’s legal costs.
Hanson’s comments were prompted by a social media post by Faruqi on Sept. 9, 2022, where the Greens senator said she refused to mourn the death of Queen Elizabeth II….
