TAMPA Fl, (BLOOM) – Get ready for a night of family-friendly Halloween fun along the iconic Tampa Riverwalk! The Friends of the Tampa Riverwalk are excited to host the 8th Annual Riverwalk Trick or Treat, sponsored by Banko Overhead Doors, on Saturday, October 26, 2024. This free event kicks off at 4 p.m. and promises a ghoulishly good time for children, parents, and even pets.
Event Highlights
From Water Works Park to MacDill Park, the 1.4-mile stretch of the Riverwalk will transform into a candy-filled Halloween haven. Over 50 local businesses and organizations will hand out treats, and kids can grab complimentary treat bags at designated stations while supplies last.
Beyond trick or treating, attendees will enjoy a costume contest and pumpkin patch, with plenty of games, food trucks, DJs, and photo ops along the way. The costume contest, sponsored by Grow Financial, will feature categories for different age groups and pets. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes, and all participants will receive a prize for joining in.
New this Year: “Thriller” Dance Workshop and Flash Mob
For the first time, Dance Tampa Bay will offer a free dance workshop at 3 p.m. in Water Works Park, teaching choreography from Michael Jackson’s famous “Thriller” video. Participants can show off their dance moves at two flash mob performances: 6 p.m. at Water Works Park and 6:30 p.m. at Curtis Hixon Park. Want to join the fun? Come dressed as your favorite zombie and be part of this spooky spectacle!
End the Night with a Halloween Classic
After an evening of candy and costumes, families can relax under the stars at Curtis Hixon Park for a Movie in the Park at 7:30 p.m., featuring Tim Burton’s beloved film, “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Don’t forget to bring a blanket or lawn chairs for the ultimate outdoor movie experience.
