VIDEO: Timelapse footage shows Hurricane Helene hit Florida’s Big Bend

HORSESHOE BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — Timelapse footage captured when Hurricane Helene landed as a Category 4 storm in Florida’s Big Bend on Thursday, Sept. 26.

The Florida Department of Transportation released the video, which shows Helene impact Horseshoe Beach overnight Thursday and into Friday morning.

The National Hurricane Center monitors two disturbances

Helene swept across the southeast last week, leaving over 150 people dead as it spread devastation from Florida up to Virginia, making it one of the deadliest storms in U.S. history.
